During the warmer months, lighter dinners take centre stage.

Cue the humble salad. Whether it’s an indulgent caprese salad drizzled in balsamic glaze or quinoa with crunchy rainbow vegetables, London has a great selection of fresh salads to tickle any fancy.

The city’s eateries prove salads are far from boring. These are the best spots to grab a bite at.

Savage Salads

For a quick pit stop, this street food franchise has stalls at Berwick Street, Strutton Ground and Flat Iron Square. It was originally set up by an Italian chef and a restaurant owner who wanted to create a street food stand that offered fresh, healthy salad dishes. Together they bring innovative salads that change on a weekly basis. They’re open seven days a week at Flat Iron Square and Monday-Friday at Berwick Street Market and Strutton Ground.

Ottolenghi

Not-so boring salads: Ottolenghi's offering
Issy Croker

Ottolenghi’s restaurants have a reputation for their salads, and rightly so. With a counter packed full of brimming plates, this spot blows the term ‘dull salad’ out of the park. These Middle-Eastern-inspired salads change on rotation, but expect dishes like roasted aubergines with feta and roasted sweet potato with red onion jam.
