China Garden, 1353 Wabash Ave. (3 Critical, 5 Non-Critical) — Found certified food handler certificate expired on Feb. 28, 2024. Found bowl used to scoop raw chicken resting on top of raw vegetables in prep cooler. Found no date marking on food items throughout establishment.

Zeng Sushi, 2309 S. Third St. (3 Critical, 3 Non-Critical) — Observed employee beverages on food prep and storage areas in kitchen. Found multiple ready to eat items without date markings. Observed rice in basin of hand wash sink in sushi bar area.

Lucia’s Taqueria, 30 N. Brown Ave. (3 Critical, 1 Non-Critical) — Found queso and various meats being reheated on countertop warmer and inside crockpot. All portions of reheated potentially-hazardous food items must reach a temperature of 165°F for 15 seconds. Found pan of refried beans in cooler at 57.9°F. Cooked potentially-hazardous food must reach 70°F within two hours and 41°F within four hours. Cooked potentially hazardous items must reach 41°F or below within six continuous hours.

Umi Grill Sushi Bar, 2002 S. Third St. (2 Critical, 4 Non-Critical) — Observed open employee beverage in reach in prep cooler next to food ingredients. Observed fish thawing in bucket blocking hand wash sink.

Hacienda Coyote Grill, 2433 S. Third St. (2 Critical, 3 Non-Critical) — Observed ice cream scoop in hand wash sink. Hand wash sinks are for hand washing only. Observed refried beans, queso and ground beef on steam table at 112-118°F. All shall be 135°F or above.
