BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - The Biloxi Seafood Festival poster was unveiled Wednesday morning during the Breakfast with the Mayor event at the Hard Rock Casino. Biloxi seafood committee chairs unveiled the winning poster that will represent the festival this Fall.

The poster was unveiled before a large crowd. It shows a pelican fishing.

The artist behind that work is Matt Stebly of Ocean Springs. He said it's a spin-off of a poster he did in the past year.

Organizers say selecting the winning artwork was not easy.

"It's a huge honor to be named the winner of the Seafood Festival poster, especially multiple years. It's something you see growing up, living down here. It's definitely something you grow up seeing and being able to actually do it. It's a huge honor," said Stebly.

"I painted it using, it's actually tattooing and watercolor. It's really versatile," Stebly said.

Stebly created the work of art on watercolor paper. He said the work didn't take as long as his previous posters.

"I worked on it for like three days straight, and it ended up coming together pretty easily. So, I was pretty happy with that," he added.

"My kids are always super proud anytime I get recognized for anything," Stebly said. "My wife is probably my biggest supporter that I have. I think it's kind of hard to listen to what she says because she's so so positive all the time. She's always super supportive."

You can purchase a print of the poster at the Biloxi Visitors Center, the Negrottos Gallery, or the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce at $25 and $50 for signed copies.

The festival starts September 8 through 9.
