Journalist Georgia Psaria passes away at 49

Journalist Georgia Psaria has passed away at the age of 49, following a long battle with cancer.

She had been a member of the Union of Cyprus Journalists since 1999, and was highly regarded for her work, dedication and commitment to journalism.

In it announcement, the Administrative Board of the Union of Cyprus Journalists notes her long contribution to journalism for almost three decades in both print and digital media, her excellent investigative reporting and the persistence, determination and dedication through which she approached her work.

“Her memory will always remain noble as that of a person, a journalist who loved her work, loved and supported her colleagues, and fought for what she believed in and served, with courage, militancy, great ambition, and dedication”, the announcement reads.

The Administrative Board expressed its deep sorrow for Psaria’s passing and its sincere condolences to her family and friends.

“May her memory be eternal”, the announcement concludes.

Georgia Psaria began her career in journalism at the radio station “Ammochostos,” worked for several years at the newspaper “Politis,” and in 2018 started working at the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CyBC).
